John has been a paramedic in the Rhodesian Army (16 years) and worked for the Waikato DHB for 35 years, retiring in November 2018.
He has lead New Zealand tours to the Marlborough Sounds and High Country, to Fiordland and rail trips to the Chateau to celebrate ANZAC at Waiouru.
Overseas tours include, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia (Victoria Falls) and Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls).
Past times include genealogy, a Trustee on the Waikato Health Memorabilia Trust and writing memoirs.
He lives in Te Awamutu with his wife Wendy.
