Depart on a late – morning flight to Seoul arriving early evening and transfer to our hotel for a three-night stay.
Today, we will explore the historic Gyeongbokgung Palace, including the National Folk Museum located on its grounds. Afterward, a visit to Bukchon Hanok Village, a traditional area with well-preserved hanok houses followed by a stroll through Insa-dong Antique Street, renowned for its craft shops and charming tea houses. Welcome dinner this evening.
Today our visit to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), begins with Imjingak Park and the iconic Freedom Bridge. You will explore the Third Infiltration Tunnel, followed by the DMZ Theatre & Exhibition Hall, where you’ll learn more about the region’s history. Next a visit to the Dora Observatory for a panoramic view of North Korea, and stop by Dorasan Station, a symbol of potential future reunification. Finally, we will pass through the Unification Village before returning to the hotel in the late afternoon.
The Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a heavily fortified area that separates North and South Korea. It was established in 1953 after the Korean War to prevent further conflict between the two countries. The zone includes forests, estuaries, and wetlands, and is a sanctuary for hundreds of bird species including white-naped and red-crowned cranes. It is also home to Asiatic black bears
This morning we travel to Nami Island to enjoy a scenic walk and a taste of the islands cultural charm. We continue onto Sokcho and this evening enjoy a traditional Korean full-course meal, featuring an array of small Banchan plates, each offering unique flavour and colour.
Nami Island is famed for its year round natural beauty, but the best time to visit is definitely in autumn. With tree-lined streets of giant metasequoia and golden gingko, this is one of the most pleasant places to see autumn leaves.
A day of sightseeing in the autumn coloured mountains. First a visit to Nakansa Temple, a serene Buddhist temple complex nestled on the slopes of Naksan Mountain, then on into Seoraksan National Park, which incldes a scenic cable car ride.
The first place for autumn foliage in Korea is on the north-east coast, where Seoraksan National Park is one of the first and also most impressive places to see Korean autumn leaves. The autumn foliage in Seoraksan is forecast to begin at the start of September 29 2025, and peak 3 weeks later on October 20th.
On todays journey you will explore the Andong Hahoe Folk Village, a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers a glimpse into traditional Korean life, with its well-preserved thatched-roof houses and cultural heritage. Included is a visit to a Confucian school to learn about the deep-rooted Confucian traditions that have shaped Korean society. Dinner tonight is the famous Andong Jjamdak, a Savory dish made with chicken, vegetables, and glass noodles in a rich, flavourful sauce.
After departing Andong, visit the historic Cheomseongdae Observatory, one of the oldest astronomical observatories in East Asia. Next, explore the Daereungwon Tomb Complex, home to the ancient burial mounds of Silla kings and nobility, offering a fascinating glimpse into Korea’s royal past. Finally, a visit to the renowned Bulguksa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, celebrated for its stunning architecture and cultural significance.
Busan, is South Korea’s second largest city, today’s sightseeing tour includes visits and walking opportunities at the picturesque Cheongsapo Marina, the popular Haeundae Beach and the scenic Dongbaek Island.
The city tour today goes to the vibrant Gamcheon Culture Village, known for its colorful hillside homes, art installations, and narrow alleyways that offer stunning views of Busan. On to the Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the coastline and the city. A stop at BIFF Square, the heart of Busan’s film industry, bustling with street food vendors, shops, and entertainment then to Jagalchi Market, Korea’s largest seafood market, where you can sample some fresh local delicacies. The evening is free with plenty of options for finding a great spot for dinner.
The day starts with a short scenic drive to Suncheon, a charming city known for its natural beauty and the Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve, a stunning coastal ecosystem home to diverse wildlife, including migratory birds and rare plant species. A leisurely stroll through the Suncheon Bay Ecological Park is included. This evening, you will indulge in a traditional Korean Shabu-Shabu dinner, where you can enjoy a hot pot filled with fresh ingredients, including thinly sliced meat, vegetables, and tofu, all cooked to perfection at the table.
The days highlight is the experience of travelling on Korea’s famed Express train to Jeonju. On arrival there is a visit at Jeonju Hanok Village, a beautifully preserved area that offers a glimpse into traditional Korean life with its picturesque hanok houses. Also visit a local Hang Workshop, where you can learn about the intricate art of making traditional Korean paper lanterns, a craft with centuries of history.
Tonight’s meal at Jeonju, a city renowned for its rich history and culinary heritage; is Jeonju Bibimbap, one of Korea’s most famous dishes, it features a mix of rice, seasoned vegetables, a fried egg, and a spicy gochujang sauce.
This morning, depart and travel to Deajeon, a vibrant city known for its mix of modern technology and natural beauty, where we’ll visit Maison Tapsa, a unique and picturesque stone temple. Next, is Yuseong Hot Springs Foot Bath Park, where you can relax your feet in the soothing, therapeutic hot spring waters—a perfect way to unwind and rejuvenate.
A visit to the impressive Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its beautiful architecture and historical significance. After exploring the fortress, continue the journey to Seoul, making a stop at the bustling Gwangjang Market. Famous for its street food and traditional Korean snacks. Gwangjang Market is the perfect place to sample local delicacies like bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes) and mayak gimbap (mini rice rolls).
Our final day in Seoul where we will visit the iconic Lotte World Tower, one of the tallest buildings in Korea. Here you can take in stunning panoramic views of the city from its observation deck. Next, we’ll take a peaceful stroll around Seokchon Lake, a serene and picturesque spot especially beautiful in the autumn, offering a tranquil escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. Afterward, visit Bongeunsa Temple, a Buddhist temple nestled in the heart of the city, where you can experience a sense of calm amidst the urban landscape. This afternoon, you’ll have free time to relax or explore before a farewell dinner.
